If you ask our poetically-driven self, then we'd say that we see a tubby chair swathed in a dainty kimono. But if you were to ask our philosophical self that is partial to exploring the various forms of beauty that exist beyond the ambit of what is known and ingrained, then we'd say that the chair puts forth the idea of un-learning the rigid concepts of geometry and symmetry.
The chair, at a glance, seems like an impetuous work of a dilettante but upon close inspection, its irregular outline and seemingly askew stripes reveal thoughtfulness in construction - a trait exhibited by a true virtuoso. In the conventional aesthetic universe, the UME chair is an aberration, albeit a beautiful one.
