Our snazzy take on festive decorating
Lorem / ipsum dolor sit amet
August officially marks our entry into the festive season—and we couldn't be happier. This also means that our to-do lists will be crawling with seemingly unending tasks and reminders! When you got so many things to take care of—you might be tempted to rely on the tried-and-tested decor ideas for the upcoming season. But why settle for run-of-the-mill when our founder-designer Namit Ajmani is all ready to dish his tips and tricks to spruce up homes this festive season?
1: Set the stage with some warm lighting
The first word that pops in our heads when we think about 'festive'—is light—loads and loads of light that illuminate our space, work up our holiday excitement and act as a head-turner. "Brightness is what we invariably associate merry times with—so my first tip is to look for a statement floor lamp—that serves its primary purpose and adds that extra something to brighten up the interiors—like this gorgeous Kabuki floor lamp from Kartell," shares Namit. Point taken.
2: Inject wonder and whimsy
As much as we love our space to hum with the good old traditional vibe—this festive season our founder suggests a hint of whimsy and unexpected touches. He says, "With our lives being markedly divorced from nature, I personally make it a point to bring in a healthy dose of greenery with woodland creatures nestled among them.Pan Pan from Ligne Roset is perfect to add a sense of whimsy into a traditional-with-a-twist vignette." A slice of nature laced with fanciful details—it's refreshingly oh-so-chic!
3: Bedeck your home office
Probably one of the most neglected areas of our lovely abode can be our home office. Namit says, "I don't know why we just look at our home offices as places where we plonk down on our chairs to get our work done. Spread the festive joy in your workspace with interesting art pieces like our vintage Medusa-inspired holder."Our founder-designer certainly makes a strong case for holidizing your home office. This is one area where in fact you can give free reins to your creativity especially if you want to inject some colors through curios and art.
4: Raise the bar
Sleek lines, small stature, and suave style—a well-stocked bar will keep the cocktails and conversations flowing. Namit reveals, "You don't have to have a full-service bar to host your guests but just one key piece that will hold all your spirits and mixers whilst allowing you to showcase your small accents."
5: The evergreen candlelight
"Trends come and go but there are some old-world flourishes that never go out of style—like silver candle holders," remarks Namit. Of course, who can deny the allure of elegant candlelight! These silver-soused perforated candles will pair beautifully with hues of violet, blue, and green—the festive colors that will be showing up more in your interior mix this season.
